Making A Public Service Announcement (PSA)

Fliphound, LLC wants to hear about organizations community initiatives and events and can help get the word out about your event!

Fliphound, a leading online out-of-home advertising platform, and its affiliate Atomic Billboards, have a long history of supporting many philanthropic causes throughout Kansas and Oklahoma, including Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey and Reno counties. Over years we have supported hundreds of local area nonprofit, community, charities, fundraisers, public service (PSA), and volunteer organizations. Both Fliphound and Atomic are proud members to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America and the Out-of-Home (OOH) industry donates more than $400 million in ad placements annually. Fliphound, and its partner Atomic Billboards, believe that community groups are an important part of our culture and community.

As part of our mission to better serve the community, Fliphound provides in-kind (including outdoor billboard advertising, internet & social media media promotion), discounted ad rates, and other contributions to not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations that work to raise awareness, and expand and/or enhance their service reach.

We receive hundreds of requests each year and review each one thoroughly. To ensure your request is considered, please review the guideline below and allow us up to 2 weeks to respond. All submissions must include the required information to be considered.

Once your submission is reviewed and approved we will share a link with you that provides you with you the various options we provide to PSA advertisers or organizations.

Public Service Announcement (PSA) Application Guidelines

  • We allow organizations to display one PSA campaign per year and each request needs to be submitted and completed at least 3 weeks before the event.
  • PSAs must be submitted through the Fliphound website. Fliphound, and its affiliate Atomic Billboards, do not accept submissions via phone, email or in person.
  • A cover letter on the organization’s letterhead authorizing this PSA request must be signed by the CEO/Mgmt and uploaded to the Fliphound website.
  • All PSAs aired on the Fliphound, Atomic, and it other partners billboard networks must adhere to FCC guidelines and regulations. That includes language and content.
  • Our preference is given to local based organizations who support local area initiatives and for events whose sponsors are regular advertisers with Atomic and Fliphound or one of our affiliate networks.
  • Artwork can be furnished by the client or prepared for a fee by Fliphound or Atomic.
  • Do: state only the facts and keep your ad short and fluid 7 words or less.
Don't: mention ticket price or cost or try to cram too much information in the message.
  • Pending approval of your application, you will receive an email outlining the options we make available and the process for getting airing your PSA.

Selection Process

  • PSAs are initially processed by the Fliphound management. Those deemed suitable for display are provided to the scheduling staff; the rest are recycled.
  • Scheduling staff then select PSAs to schedule on the Fliphound billboard network in available space subject to availability.
  • As a PSA nears its event date (also known as pull or kill date), air time generally increases. On the event date (pull date), it is then removed from the PSA pool and recycled.
  • No specific content criteria are used in the selection or rejection of Public Service Announcements. Generally, PSAs closer to and more pertinent to the Wichita, Hutchinson, and Sedgwick, Butler, and Reno county communities are favored over statewide or national PSA's.
  • PSAs are generally rejected for logistical reasons such as late submission, illegibility, verbosity, bad artwork, and improper formatting (Fliphound, Atomic reserve the right to reject any ads or content for any reason).
